Beetle

Beetle

Beetle is probably one of my favourite kids shows of the fringe so far. A beautiful story with a strong environmental message and visually stunning to watch. This is physical theatre storytelling at its finest, expertly combined with mixed media, animation and puppetry.

My little one was captivated throughout as he was taken on a journey through the Australian bush exploring the friendship between a little girl and a Christmas beetle she finds hiding in a tree in her garden.  He also came away with a new understanding and appreciation for our environment and the creatures that live within it.

This show gets 5 stars from me and my mini reviewer, not to mention it is in one of my favourite venues at the fringe this year, House of Oz.

My mini reviewer said : “I loved the bit where the girl runs up the tree. I learnt not to take seeds from the earth so more trees can grow and all the Christmas beetle families can live there”
