Lucky Pigeons

Lucky Pigeons

Underbelly’s Circus Hub

Glittery pigeons dance, leap, fly, spin and somersault in this hour of circus skills and acrobatics. There’s also juggling with ‘eggs’, and a pigeon’s take on Swan Lake to enjoy.

We found it a bit hard to follow the story but in essence there’s a struggling character turned businessman who is teased by the pigeons in different ways before becoming friends with them.

There’s lots of creativity and skill to enjoy here, but a bit too much attention required of an (admittedly slightly tired) 3 year old to make the most of it. I think her favourite bit might have been at the end when she could meet the pigeon puppets and collect stray multi-coloured feathers!

Overall we enjoyed the spectacle set in the beautiful surroundings of the Spiegeltent. But the nuances of the story were definitely lost on my 3 year old.

She really got into her clapping role though. And it’s gentle enough to fascinate the youngest members of the audience, not intimidate them.

My mini reviewer said : “..Wow – that’s a good move!” and “Can I do roly polys like that?”
