Police Cops in Space

Assembly Roxy

It’s really fantastic when teenagers develop their own tastes and can pick and choose what they want to see during the fringe, and I’m filled with pride that Police Cops In Space is one of those shows. Personally, I think it demonstrates excellent parenting !

The three performers are so impressively good at keeping up the momentum of this show, whether that’s impeccable dance routines, speedy costume and character changes with accents to match or the expert improvisation that means even mistakes or missed cues are seamlessly incorporated into the performance – it’s all just so so brilliant and ludicrously inventive. This is seemingly a sequel to the original Police Cops, though any narrative thread is extremely loose- yet we are joyfully reunited with Jimmy Johnson and Harrison! You certainly don’t need to have seen the previous show to enjoy this one; everyone will appreciate this police drama parody, this time with added sci-fi action and stunts, including robotic villains, hyperspace crossings and impressive space shuttles.

Jam packed with witty dialogue, cliches galore, and some extremely colourful characters..it may be a little bit bonkers, but it is filled with tons of joy and the sheer skill involved in keeping all of the moving parts together is genuinely remarkable. Its a frenzied show, that barely pauses for breath, leaving the audience ceaselessly giggling…

Absurdly brilliant, gloriously chaotic and ridiculously entertaining. We’d happily go and see it time and time again.

Our mini reviewer said :‘ I liked the battle scene at the end, and when they did the rewinding…and the motorbike bit, that was cool, and i want to see the original one again too please..’
