I feel extremely fortunate that I had the chance to watch the incredibly skilled and powerful performance that is ‘Ten Thousand Hours’ before it leaves the Edinburgh fringe this year. It really is a masterpiece! The performers genuinely look like they are enjoying every minute of it, and the connection they have with each other on stage is beautiful to watch.
This really is a show for all ages which was a welcome change for me given that I have mostly prioritised seeing kids shows this year. As a parent I loved it, and my 8-year-old was also captivated throughout. There were lots of gasps and laughs from both of us at various points as we watched the phenomenally talented acrobats on stage.
Overall, this show is visually stunning, the acrobatics is breathtaking, the live drumming is amazing, and the story told is simple yet powerful. I honestly can’t say enough lovely things about it, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys really accomplished physical theatre and circus. I have no doubt this show will sell out fast though, so don’t hold back in getting tickets in case you miss out!
It is very clear to see why Ten Thousand Hours has so many 5-star reviews and has returned to the fringe year after year. I wouldn’t hesitate to go and see it again next year however, Gravity & Other Myths have announced that 2026 will be the last year for this show. If you miss out this time round, keep your eyes peeled for what they might bring next year, because I have no doubt it will be just as impressive.
