5 Mistakes That Changed History

Assemble George Square – The Crate

As a Geographer at heart, at first this show may not have seemed to have been matched for me, but how wrong I was ! This was an hour of brilliantly relayed historical facts that I will now remember for a very very long time !!

Paul Coulter takes us on a fantastic adventure through five of the great ‘what ifs…?’ in history, showing us all that ‘to err is human’ and if these five anecdotes are anything to go by, erring may well produce some very great results and some which those involved may want to quickly forget !! We were skilfully whisked from person to person, with energetic storytelling and engaging facts keeping the entire audience enthralled…a little democratic voting meant we also got some participation of our own…

It’s easy to see why this is selling out, everyone makes mistakes but don’t let missing out on seeing this show be one of yours….

A Bee Story

Assembly, George Square Gardens

Two bees fight for their survival in this energetic, action packed performance which is funny and full of impressive antics, yet delivers a serious message. Queen bee and her worker bee start the show with the haughty Queen lording it over her minion. Things soon change when disaster strikes and the two bees must rely on each other to come through unscathed.

Using physical theatre, circus skills, dance and live music (one bee plays the flute!) we are taken on a tumultuous journey as the bees are forced to find a new home after a bushfire. Peril is everywhere and the two bees need to work together to survive and find a suitable place to build a new hive.

The acrobatics, juggling and unicycle tricks kept us on the edge of our seats cheering and clapping. Whilst the physical theatre, mime and set design tell a, harrowing at times, but ultimately uplifting tale of the plight of bees. It’s a hard hitting yet hopeful message, cleverly done, and I enjoyed seeing a show with my daughter that had an important environmental message.

This is a highly accomplished show that we thoroughly enjoyed. My 3 year old was a bit scared of the fire moments, but otherwise was happy throughout. I’d recommend it as suitable for older children to get the most out of it.

My mini reviewer said: “That looks dodgy, he might fall!” and “What colour flower do you like? I like yellow.” and “Poor bees, are they hurt?”

Adventure Bubble Show with Milkshake

If you are looking for a bubble extravaganza, engaging storytelling, slapstick comedy moments and a good dollop of the “wow” factor then this is the show for you. Kids of all ages clearly loved watching Dr Bubble and Milkshake work their magic with bubbles of all shapes and sizes, many taking different forms to fit in with the story they were telling.

My 5-year-old was transfixed throughout this performance, as were all the other kids in the audience. We loved how the duo managed to weave storytelling and puppetry seamlessly into the show so it wasn’t just ‘all about the bubbles’, while also very much being ‘all about the bubbles’ . The venue was also perfect to fully experience this show in the best way – there was an area at the front where kids could sit on the floor to get up close to all the bubble magic, and the room was small enough that everyone could benefit from the showstopping finale which filled the entire space with bubbles of all shapes and sizes. The opportunity for each child to stand inside their very own bubble at the end was also a lovely addition to complete the whole experience.

My mini reviewer said : “The smoke bubbles were my favourite, and the millions of bubbles at the end. That was the most bubbles I have seen in my whole life.”

Alice’s Adventures

Greenside @ Nicolson Square

Alice’s Adventures combines original song and dance with the familiar characters and verse to take us on a journey through the muddled up world of wonderland. We encounter all the best loved characters including a delightfully illuminated caterpillar, the rather sinister Cheshire cat and the white rabbit, plus the mad hatter and friends. All navigated by a perpetually confused and exasperated Alice, of course.

The nonsensical tea party was a highlight for us, as were the excellent lobsters dancing the quadrille. The high stakes croquet game with flamingos as mallets is an intense experience!

With full cast and fabulous costumes Alice’s Adventures is fascinating and fast paced entertainment. The suitability guidance recommends 5+ and I’d say that my 3 year old couldn’t follow most of what was going on. But then it’s a nonsense so there’s a lot left open to interpretation anyway!

My mini reviewer said: “I like the dancing!” and “Alice has a pretty dress” and “The caterpillar lights are nice!”

Amazing Bubble Man

Underbelly, George Square

Amazing Bubble Man lives up to the hype. Here we have a man doing consistently amazing things with bubbles!

It seems like most of what is feasible to do with a bubble and / or multiple bubbles he’s doing here. With humour, scientific explanations and panache the Amazing Bubble Man conjures trick after trick with the help of an intriguing array of bubble apparatus. There are square bubbles, rocket and snow globe bubbles, caterpillar bubbles, disco bubbles, bubbles so big they swallow a child whole… you name it, there’s probably a bubble trick in there somewhere!

There are ample opportunities for audience participation for those game enough and willing to get splattered with bubble liquid and / or squirted at with a water pistol.

Part of the experience is being in a (practically) sold out huge venue, alongside hundreds of other enthralled kids and their accompanying adults. My 3 year old loves bubbles and she was definitely into this. A big part of its family appeal I think is that there’s something in the show for all ages.

My mini reviewer said: “Amazing!” and “That’s a big bubble!” and “Can I pop one?”

Artiste

Guilded Balloon, Wee Room

This one person show is intimate, imaginative and delightfully interactive. You’re in for a treat of mime, physical comedy and clowning which is well pitched for 3 years and above.

There is a central thread of artistry with the Artiste delivering up drawings and paintings using different mediums and inspirations. It gets messy, emotional and very funny. Ultimately a masterpiece (to rival the Mona Lisa?) is created in record time in the last few minutes. My daughter was the randomly chosen muse for this picture which she was baffled by, but ultimately pleased!

The sketches are clever and funny. We particularly liked it when we were invited to scribble on a pad and the Artiste then transformed our rubbish doodle into something recognisable. Ours became a beautiful fish.

The frequent audience participation keeps adults and kids alike on their toes. I really enjoyed taking my 3 year old daughter to something entirely mimed. Artiste stands out as wonderfully different.

My mini reviewer said: “She’s a silly billy!” and “There’s ketchup on her nose!”

Beetle

Beetle is probably one of my favourite kids shows of the fringe so far. A beautiful story with a strong environmental message and visually stunning to watch. This is physical theatre storytelling at its finest, expertly combined with mixed media, animation and puppetry.

My little one was captivated throughout as he was taken on a journey through the Australian bush exploring the friendship between a little girl and a Christmas beetle she finds hiding in a tree in her garden.  He also came away with a new understanding and appreciation for our environment and the creatures that live within it.

This show gets 5 stars from me and my mini reviewer, not to mention it is in one of my favourite venues at the fringe this year, House of Oz.

My mini reviewer said : “I loved the bit where the girl runs up the tree. I learnt not to take seeds from the earth so more trees can grow and all the Christmas beetle families can live there”

Brotipo

Assembly George Square Gardens – Piccolo

Two loveable friends entertain and amuse us with various slapstick moments, impressive acrobatics and talented diablo sequences….

The dynamic duo set out to boldly interact with the audience with some water gun action before taking us through this tale of friendship- though in all honesty, there was not much of a story or central thread to hold it all together…what was evident though, was the performer’s ability to engage with smaller members of the audience, as evidenced by much giggling during silly slapstick moments and with little dialogue, it works well for the younger children watching. Older children may find it a bit too slow. The gentle pace and simple moments of gifts being opened, acrobatics being staged and ultimately two friends very much enjoying playing together works as a first introduction to circus….

Great physicality, quirky characters and heart warming humour to brighten up your afternoon…

My mini reviewer said : ” ….they were funny, and the diablo was cool…”

Glom Glom and the Musical Monster Millipede

Gilded Ballon Teviot

This interactive hour has a lot of appeal for little ones. There’s dressing up, dancing, singing and shouting and more!

Glom Glom take us on a journey through silly games, creative costume changes, magic, songs and jolly jokes – all aimed at encouraging the Musical Monster Millipede out of its hiding place.

The wee ones in the audience are encouraged to get involved at every opportunity. And although my 3 year old was a bit unsure at first she soon got into the swing of things. We particularly liked the Chaos Chickens, the banana song and, of course, the Musical Monster Millipede. There’s a nice and intimate feel in the small venue which means that you feel very much part of the action, and the cast of two did a good job of connecting with the kids one on one and as a rabble!

It’s non stop fun and high energy silliness, which is pretty well pitched for 3-8 year olds I’d say. Age suitability says 0+ but I think it might be a bit overwhelming for younger toddlers.

My mini reviewer said: “I liked catching pom poms in the pink net”

Grow

Scottish Storytelling Centre

This is a simple story about a slightly clueless gardener who agrees to look after his friend’s allotment whilst they are on holiday. With the help of the audience and some puppet friends (the bees, a bird and a hedgehog) the enthusiastic gardener manages to grow a sunflower.

It’s a cute and neatly designed set and an intimate feel with a small audience sat on cushions on the floor, or chairs round the edge of the room. Definitely aimed at little ones, there is lots of audience engagement and the one person show is cheerful and captures the kids’ attention.  There were lots of giggles and not too much squirming!

We enjoyed singing the songs and my 3 year old was very happy to be given some seeds to take home at the end.

My mini reviewer said: “I liked the bees and the bird” and “I’ll grow my sunflower seeds next spring!”

Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow……we totally LOVED this ! What an absolutely slick production, the songs, the choreography, the set, the storyline and with a live band on stage to top it all off !

True crime fans will adore this show, and so will pretty much everyone else ! It has both the perfect blend of mystery to keep us engaged and humour to keep us entertained…the humble wheely office chair is given a starring role too ! But this is about so much more than solving a crime; its about friendship and finding your passions and being disillusioned and ultimately a whole lot of acceptance.

A perfect show to bring older children along to, with a myriad of characters for them to appreciate alongside the intriguing forensic storyline, catchy music and silly jokes…

See you next murder !…..

My mini reviewer said : ”…I really enjoyed it, its been my favourite show so far, I had no idea who the murderer was, so that was a surprise ! It kept me guessing… And I loved all the songs too….”

Kokoon

Assembly Checkpoint

Arriving at the venue to the longest queue for a fringe show we’ve ever seen, neither of us quite knew what to expect ! We were in for a fantastic surprise – Kokoon was all kinds of wonderful and we left the show as huge new fans…..

Kokoon bring high energy to the stage, whether it’s their dancing, singing, comedy or beatboxing…this show has a sprinkling of everything. There was a LOT of screaming as the front rows were filled with dedicated fans, but that added to the upbeat, energetic atmosphere…This is a quirky show, filled with moments of hilarity and with five incredible performers who each bring their unique skills and presence.

Sure to brighten up anyone’s afternoon, this show is definitely for the k-pop lovers out there, but it’s also so much more, and like us, you may soon be a convert, and want this inherently likeable fivesome to be your friend…

My mini reviewer said : …” …I liked how they interacted with everyone and I liked how it was lots of different things – music, comedy, beatboxing..”

Lightning Ridge

This was an hour of captivating storytelling, whisking us away to the small mining town of Lightning Ridge in the Australian outback where one family’s search for hope, was both heart-warming and heart-breaking…

Twelve year old Ashmol is not impressed with his sister’s imaginary friends – Pobby and Dingan, but when Kellyanne falls ill, he slowly changes his mind….with a creative set, and evocative lighting, Gill Robertson impressively relays the myriad of characters within this small mining town and has the audience entirely engaged as we are fully invested in this touching tale. Hope is not lost when the whole community and Ashmol himself search for the missing invisible duo and whilst new friends come together, others silently slip away – this was an unexpected story of grief, and the muffled sobs coming from behind me proved I was not alone in experiencing the emotional impact of what played out gently before us….

I loved getting lost in this poignant, imaginative tale…

My mini-reviewer said : ” I liked Dingan, with the opal in his tummy..”

Lost in the Woods

Gilded Balloon

Hawk and Hill Theatre take kids on a magical journey through the weird and wonderful world of not just one, but almost every traditional fairy tale you have been told as a child, yet in a very non-traditional way. This show will have your wee ones engaged throughout as the two characters, Hansel and Gretal, energetically perform extracts of everything from sleeping beauty to the princess and the pea and little red riding hood in this hilarious comedy that had laughs from all ages in the audience.

This show is definitely worth taking a chance on, and my little one loved it. Plenty of laughs for young and old and performed by two very talented children’s actors. With only 8 shows left in the fringe, I’d recommend this show for any little ones 5 and over who enjoy getting lost in the magic of great storytelling.

My mini reviewer said: “It was so funny, I loved the bit where they started eating their own house”

Lucky Pigeons

Underbelly’s Circus Hub

Glittery pigeons dance, leap, fly, spin and somersault in this hour of circus skills and acrobatics. There’s also juggling with ‘eggs’, and a pigeon’s take on Swan Lake to enjoy.

We found it a bit hard to follow the story but in essence there’s a struggling character turned businessman who is teased by the pigeons in different ways before becoming friends with them.

There’s lots of creativity and skill to enjoy here, but a bit too much attention required of an (admittedly slightly tired) 3 year old to make the most of it. I think her favourite bit might have been at the end when she could meet the pigeon puppets and collect stray multi-coloured feathers!

Overall we enjoyed the spectacle set in the beautiful surroundings of the Spiegeltent. But the nuances of the story were definitely lost on my 3 year old.

She really got into her clapping role though. And it’s gentle enough to fascinate the youngest members of the audience, not intimidate them.

My mini reviewer said : “..Wow – that’s a good move!” and “Can I do roly polys like that?”

Magic Gareth: Level Up!

Magic Gareth took us on a entertaining journey to save a cute unicorn from his evil twin. Sounds fun? It was!

Great energy and child entertainment skills from Gareth keep both young and old laughing, captivated and participating from start to finish. The show features an incredible big balloon, computer game backstory and well polished magic.

Our 7 year old was probably more impressed than the 10 year old.  The show is good for kids up to, possibly including tweens, who will be enthralled, excited and mesmerised by Gareth – a natural kids entertainer….

My mini-reviewers said: ”..I’d recommened it to ALL other kids…”

..”..the big balloon was awesome ..”

Marcel Lucont: Les Enfants Terribles – A Gameshow For Awful Children

Some adults may think that kids know absolutely nothing, and Marcel Lucont (Alexis Dubus) sets out to prove exactly this….with hilarious consequences…

This interactive gameshow is pitched perfectly for kids, with loads of opportunities for participation and kids to get up and get involved in the inventive, unique rounds leading up to a grand finale. A personal favourite of ours was the ‘J’accuse’, where kids were able to get on stage and recount their most embarrassing story about their parents ! Again…this resulted in much hilarity….Marcel Lucont calmly presides over it all, with his incredibly witty and dry comments, ensuring adults are kept completely entertained…he provides plenty of involvement, plenty of humour, plenty of enthusiasm….

From the theme song to the prizes, an opportunity for kids to truly let loose… we couldn’t stop giggling…it was très très amusant…

My mini reviewer said : ”…I liked that there were loads of chances to get up on stage..”

Mog the Forgetful Cat

Underbelly, Bristo Square

Judith Kerr’s Mog books are classic bedtime story choices and this show adapts some of Mog’s well known exploits for the stage.

Over an hour you get the classic Forgetful Cat story as well as a trip to the vets, a nasty accident on a favourite chair and a cat talent show to top it all off.

This slick and highly accomplished show is fast paced enough not to lose the attention of the small ones in the audience, yet doesn’t move so fast as to be baffling to them. My three year old daughter was captivated from start to finish – she barely fidgeted, which is saying something!

Mog appears alongside other pets whose costumes and animal behaviours are funny and convincing. We particularly liked the vet scene with a waiting room of owners who bear an uncanny resemblance to their pets… Mog herself is the star of the show though and her cat mannerisms are impressive and entertaining.

There are songs to join in with and the whole performance is lifted by music and dance. Again and again Mog tests the Thomas family’s patience, but ultimately she’s loveable and really a rather remarkable cat!

My mini reviewer said: “Mog’s a bit funny!” and “Bother that cat!” and “Wow! Mog’s a beautiful butterfly!”

Olaf Falafel’s Super Stupid Show (20% More Stupider)

Pleasance Courtyard

Welcoming us into the intimate venue with quick-witted jokes and puns, we were immediately sat giggling and wishing we’d worn stripes….

This is a fast-paced show, full of belly laughs and silliness perfect for primary aged children. Olaf reminds us that ‘fun needs structure’ before giving us a run down of how the morning is going to pan out…from witty songs, to wise holey cheese and interactive games such as ‘sausage in my bum bag’, this is all kids of weird and wonderful and we are 100% here for it ! Olaf has many talents alongside being a brilliant comedian and there’s opportunity for children to get involved in his art workshop too- soon there’s a room full of bum faced snails with extraordinary names to add to the nonsense….

With opportunity to buy Olaf Falafel’s books and snail pin badges after, this show has a little bit of everything, and moving along so swiftly, there is little opportunity for children to be anything other than completely absorbed. Full of frivolous, fantastic, fun….

My mini-reviewer said : ” I liked drawing snails with bum faces and blobfish..”

Sea Dragon Under 5s

Pleasance Courtyard

This magical tale begins with a coral reef that has lost its colour. So begins a journey through the ocean with Kipper the sea dragon and friends to restore colour to the reef…

Along the way we meet kelpies, a family of seahorses, fishes, starfish and a crab – all wonderful puppet creations that captivate and delight. There are songs, live music from a pianist and plenty of chances to join in.

Each child is given a sparkly bag of props on arrival and the contents are neatly woven into the story at various points. My three year old particularly appreciated the flower garland necklace and the handheld disco light activated by bashing it on the floor!

At one point there’s a roving fishy bubble machine doing the rounds (an instant hit) and a parachute with a twinkly underbelly of streamers creates a magical tent over the audience.

The content, pace and focus on interaction was pretty perfect for my daughter’s age group. The story is clear, the visuals of the puppets and props are lovely and the cast is enthusiastic, welcoming, calm and engaging.

We loved Moon Dragon and now we love Sea Dragon too!

My mini reviewer said: “I liked it when the fishes came out” and “The sparkly, dangly bits under the tent thing were nice!”

Strictly Barking

This is the unlikely and quite brilliant tale of a man called Hogarth and a homeless, nameless dog that become ballroom dancing partners and enter a competition together.

Early on in the story we learn that the dog loves satsumas (or are they tangerines) and so Hogarth names him “Easy Peeler”. The two get to work on their moves, which are hilarious, impressive and expressive, and enthusiastically enter the competition.

But can they overcome the efforts of the evil cat and competition judge Steven who is determined not to allow dogs to enter?

Some highlights were the waltzing bananas – I won’t be able to hear that Symphony song without it taking me back to those special moments! Chucking the oranges and balls around was great fun. And in general we loved everything about Easy Peeler, what a legendary dog!

There’s so much energy from the cast of 2 in this show. It made me laugh a lot and my 3 year old was transfixed. I think a fair bit of the story was lost on her. Might be best for 5 and above, but she still got a lot out of it.

After the drama of a befitting showdown between cat and dog there’s a nice ending as Easy Peeler moves in with lonely Hogarth and they live happily ever after.

My mini reviewer said: “This is a silly show!” and “He’s behind you!” and “That cat is naughty!”

The 7 Fingers: Duel Reality

Underbelly Circus Hub

Wowsers trousers – these guys were amazing ! This is a very slick, heart stopping, awe inspiring performance- intertwined with dialogue from Romeo and Juliet, setting the scene for some incredible interplay between two opposing sides….

As we are encouraged to support our team, dependent on location within the tent, we are fully immersed, and invested in the games that play out before us…It’s tense, with breath taking moments as performers drop great heights from poles-stopping mere inches from the floor, spin and flip from giant see-saws and move skilfully through beautifully choreographed diablo and acrobatic sequences. Excerpts from Shakespeare fill moments between the intensity of each act and weave the piece together…

This is a story without a tragic ending however, as opposing colours are shed and performers united…an uplifting message to accompany the stunning spectacle we have just witnessed..

My mini-reviewer said : ” It was a very slick performance, my heart was in my tummy and my palms were sweaty with excitement and nerves ! ”

The Mighty Kids Beatbox Comedy Show Strikes Back!

The Mighty Kids Beatbox Comedy show combines storytelling, improvised beatboxing/song making with lots of joking around and plenty of audience participation. I took my 5 year old boy along to see this show as he loved the idea of learning to beatbox, and he definitely enjoyed watching the various unexpected noises from one of the main character Hobbit’s voice. I would, however, probably recommend this show for children older than 5 (maybe 7 +) as it was clear that the older kids in the theatre were much more engaged and enjoyed participating in the show the most.

There is no denying that the comedy duo was full of beans from start to finish, and gave their audience 100% for the duration of the show! If you are looking for a high energy, comedy show with lots of opportunities for kids to be involved then this is a good pick for you. I had expected a little more in terms of beatboxing, but this was just our personal opinion, and the older kids in the audience seemed to leave thoroughly satisfied.

The Railway Children

C Venues

This classic novel is told faithfully in a simple piece of charming children’s theatre.

The cast of seven adult actors cleverly conjure up the feel of several different scenes with one simple backdrop and adept use of props. The sound track creates a believable atmosphere, including a very convincing passing train and a dark train tunnel. There were moments of tension and moving scenes too, such as when the refugee is discovered on the train platform by the porter.

My seven year old who knows the story well, enjoyed the show very much and though there was a bit of shuffling during the longer dialogues, generally the performance held the audience’s attention throughout.

Though the show is not unsuitable for younger ones, I would hesitate to take any child younger than 8 who did not know the story, as the play is very dependent on the storyline and the dialogue to carry it through. There are no clever smoke and mirror or daredevil tricks here!

All in all a worthy and entertaining way to spend an hour.

My mini reviewer said : ‘I liked it when they rescued the boy with the broken leg. It was fun’

The Revel Puck Circus: The Wing Scuffle Spectacular

Entering the big top to the smell of freshly cooked popcorn, make this circus experience even more fun, and the performers, looking dashing in pink boilersuits enthusiastically selling snacks perfectly sets the scene for this loud and colourfully chaotic time….

Things get off to a terrifying start, with a ‘chainsaw’ swinging loosely around the stage. As the performers, jump, flip and arch away form it, their skill becomes evident. Touches of humour, with a motorised toy lion terrorising a clown, add to our enjoyment and as the lion grows, so does our love for this show ! A total highlight is an enormous tyre, on which a huge board is balanced, on top of which performers manage to not only stand up, but to perform incredible acrobatics. This circus is relaxed and accessible – a performer anxiously gripping to the sides of a high diving board before swinging off, seems even relatable !

See-saws, aerial acts, cyr wheels and singing – these guys can do it all – and with humour, grace, friendship and a fantastic soundtrack – this circus is not to be missed…

My mini-reviewers said : ”….it was sooooooooooo fun – the cyr wheel lady was amazing”

”..I liked the lion, the see-saw flips, the lady in the hoop and the candy floss best..”

Tom Brace: A Trick Down Memory Lane

Pleasance Dome

Tom Brace is back in town, ready to amaze and astound us with an array of tricks, mind reading and the expected audience participation – bravely embracing the chaotic energy when kids get on stage !

As we’ve said before, this show is about much more than magic, as Tom skilfully engages and entertains the audience of all ages…it gets off to a flying start with an entire group exercise to determine participants in an exciting game of Russian roulette (even if they’re not entirely sure what it is !)….Tom manages to remain calm and charismatic throughout, harnessing the enthusiastic energy in the room and turning it into wonder and astonishment…

Highly recommended for all ages…..

My mini-reviewers said : “…I thought the origami was really cool…”

..I loved the roulette and the unexpected twist with the prize!…”

Trash Test Dummies

We are HUGE fans of the Dummies, and are delighted General Waste and this show are back in town !!

The trio of loveable and very very funny clowns whisk us through an hour of some very silly adventures featuring the mundane wheelie bin ! There are a seemingly inexhaustible number of tricks featuring these bins, including impressive drumming sequences, hilarious hide and seek scenes, nerve wracking bomb disposal and a plethora of jumping, crashing, balancing and rolling all over them….More innovative and creative moments include clever slow motion, an impressive cyr wheel sequence, piano ladders and some awesome juggling!

The performers obviously have incredible skills, but its the moments of humorous physicality that make this show extra special – they really really know how to entertain and engage the audience so that it appeals to all ages. Who knew tidying up could be so fun ??

( Hot off the press – if you’ve missed them here in Edinburgh, they’re about to embark on a UK tour….more details on their website ! )

My mini-reviewers said : ”….I liked the ball fight and getting to chuck the balls…”

..” I liked the slow motion bits and all the amazing acrobatics..”

YUCK Circus

Assembly George Square Gardens

Yuck Yeah !!! These strong, skilled, funny and fearsome women were AWESOME !

Such a refreshing hour of circus, that doesn’t take itself too seriously, whilst managing to offer social commentary on toxic masculinity and negative traits we could all do without in society just now…One for the older children out there, and managing to portray all of these topics in such a fun, playful way. We loved the body positivity on stage, with the all-female cast in their signature simple black underwear, celebrating a diversity of bodies with muscles and strength and pride ! There is tons of physical comedy too, with a clown bringing proper belly laughs and an absurd musical interlude… And this is all without mentioning the circus skills on show, adding their own unique touch to each talent, we see aerial, skipping, hooping and acrobatics in this intimate and immersive venue….being up close and personal really works for this show (except that one moment meaning I will never look at a nail in the same way !)….

Inspired and buzzing after the high energy created within the tent – it’s clear Yuck have a large place in our hearts and we look forward to seeing them again next year….

My mini-reviewer said : ” …I LOVED it…they were amazing…the bit with the nail was unbelievable and icky…so much fun !”….
