Square Cinema – Free Outdoor Cinema 13th -15th June

Square Cinema – It’s back – the brilliant free outdoor cinema – in St Andrew Square Garden.

Over the weekend of 13th – 15th June there will be a variety of films shown…

Family audiences are in for a treat with daytime screenings including Wicked, a Paddington double bill with Paddington 2 and Paddington In Peru, Inside Out 2, The Wild Robot and Moana 2.

Later in the day, the programme shifts to Hollywood blockbusters and cult classics including The Lost Boys, Chicago, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Mrs Doubtfire, Twisters, and Gladiator 2, all shown in a relaxed, picnic-style setting in St Andrew Square Garden.

Square Cinema 14th – 16th June 2024

So…as summer slowly approaches, all the fun activities are ramping up too ! Next up is the outdoor cinema in St Andrew Square – now known as Square Cinema.

Over the weekend of 14th – 16th June there will be a variety of free films screened, including some great family and kids movies.

Friday 14th June :

4.00 pm – Kung Fu Panda – Po might just be the laziest, clumsiest panda in the Valley of Peace, but he secretly dreams of becoming a kung fu legend. When the villainous snow leopard Tai Lung threatens Po’s homeland, the hapless panda is chosen to fulfil an ancient prophecy and defend the Valley from attack. 11.00am – Trolls band Together – Poppy discovers that Branch was once part of the boy band ‘BroZone’ with his brothers, Floyd, John Dory, Spruce and Clay. When Floyd is kidnapped, Branch and Poppy embark on a journey to reunite his two other brothers and rescue Floyd.

12.45am – The Little Mermaid – The youngest of King Triton’s daughters, Ariel is a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. Longing to find out more about the world beyond the sea, Ariel visits the surface and falls for the dashing Prince Eric. Following her heart, she makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to experience life on land.

15.20 – Harry Potter And the Order Of The Phoenix – Now in his fifth year at Hogwarts, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) learns that many in the wizarding community do not know the truth of his encounter with Lord Voldemort. This weekend we’re in for a treat (as long as the weather is kind)…St Andrew Square once again hosts the outdoor film festival Film Fest In The City– serving up a host of family friendly films during the day  – so we can bring a picnic and enjoy ! Friday 14th till Sunday 16th June and it’s free …

Film Fest In The City….15th – 17th June

Festival season is hotting up and this weekend brings one of my favourite small events into town  – ‘Film Fest In The City‘ – the outdoor cinema at St Andrew Square Gardens….all we need is a little bit of sunshine, a picnic rug and some snacks and we’re all sorted for lots of great film entertainment this weekend !!

There are lots of great family friendly films being shown, and best of all – it’s free, so no excuses to get yourselves down there….
