This year we see the return of the very colourful and lovely Edinburgh Mela festival ! It will be on Leith Links this Saturday and Sunday, the 2nd and 3rd September.

It looks like things will be kicking off around midday each day, and each day is packed with music, dance and food !! Sunday sounds super fun with highlights including The Edinburgh Samba School, The Edinburgh Bhangra Crew,  an Indian street circus performance by Circus Raj  and the rather wonderful and joyous Orkestra del Sol…

The Mela Kids Zone will be open all day Saturday and Sunday and will be hosted by Play Talk Read – one tent running arts & crafts and messy play and another tent running storytelling sessions led by Douglas Mackay, as follows:

13:00 – 13:45 Mahabharata and More (stories from India)

14:00 – 14:45 Tales from the Magic Drum (Stories from Africa)

15:00 – 15.45 World of Wonder (Stories from around the world)
