Something rather exciting is happening this Sunday…..Leith’s own Vision Mechanics – impressive, immersive visual theatre makers, are holding their first summer festival this Midsummer weekend, Sunday 23 June 2019 at Drummohr House, Prestonpans, East Lothian.

Drummohr Midsummer Fest is a one day festival for all the family. Making full use of the stunning grounds, forests and out buildings of Drummohr House, there will be circus, aerial, storytelling, puppetry, food & drink and live music all day.

Featuring circus from renowned aerial artist Sarah Bebe Holmes, a tree-climbing, storytelling, musical promenade performance through the woods from Rowanbank Environmental Arts & Education, Vision Mechanics puppetry caravans and local food and drink, Drummohr Midsummer Festival is all things Leith – transported to the beautiful East Lothian countryside.

An all day music line-up programmed by Leith-based Sketchy Beats will host the likes of Castle Chorus Choir, Jemima Thewes and the Fuse, Lindsay Walker, The Moaning Bones, The Violent Mood Swings, Wolnote and The Micro Band.

This is also a rare chance to sneak a peek behind the scenes of the Vision Mechanics’ workshop; The Big Shed. The Big Shed is a world full of giant blue puppets and life size dragon sculptures from some of Vision Mechanics iconic productions; Big Man Walking, Drift, Dragons of Drummohr and Quest for Oz.

To get there, catch the 44 to Wallyford Park & Ride and then jump on the free 70 seater shuttle bus to site. Tickets only £10 for adults and £5 for kids.
