So the festivals may have finished, but there’s still lots of fun to be had and lots of great family friendly events around Edinburgh to keep us all entertained.
This Saturday -3rd September is Tea in the Park – a great event, including home baking, a very fun duck race, a dog show and much more…

So, that’s it..with the sound of the festival fireworks banging and sparkling away over the top of the castle last night, the 2017 festival has come to an end….and it’s been such a fantastic year. I have LOVED it – we enjoyed all the circus on the meadows, the brilliant kids shows, the BBC tent activities and of course the rather delicious hot donut stall in George square gardens (please let that come back next year) !!!
But, don’t despair, there is still plenty going on and in fact this weekend is packed with a plethora of events and lots more festival fun to be had !! Including Gorgie City Farm Festival, this Saturday the 2nd (more on that in a post tomorrow), the Tea in the Park event at Braidburn Valley Park, also on Saturday 2nd from 2pm which includes duck racing, music and new for this year a dog show too !!!
And of course, the fabulous Edinburgh Mela Festival has returned !!! I’ll be writing a blog post about it later in the week, but it will be on this weekend, 2nd and 3rd September on Leith Links and will include the Mela kids zone too !!
Tomorrow there’s an exciting event happening in Braidburn Valley Park – Tea In the Park ! From 2pm until 4.30pm.
This year’s attractions include the Edinburgh Bootcamp which comes with Obstacle Course and children’s games. The Vikings of Din Eidyn will be out in strength this year with a full battle force as well as other Viking pursuits. Morningside School of Music, Magic Ian and Angela Watson – School of Dance will entertain. Plus all the usual fun – Crafts and activities, raft building and racing. Not to forget the Famous and Original Duck Race and a host of stalls including bar and home baking -there will also be the Infamous dog show !
