Fanfare – brass band day 23rd august

Fanfare is a city-wide event, part of the Edinburgh International festival, that harnesses the enormous forces of Scotland’s community of brass bands by working with the Scottish Brass Band Association to present a day of free performances for everyone to enjoy.

Throughout the day, audiences across the city will be able to share the joy and passion of the live brass band. Everyone will be listening to the same pieces of music at the same time in at least 12 different locations around the city.

On at 12 noon, 3pm and 5pm – there is a map showing locations on the webpage here. Venues include the Botanics, a barge on the canal at Fountainbridge, the gallery of Modern Art and at the shore in Leith.

Looks like something completely different and fun during this festival season…
