Pride and Prejudice (sort of)….

For any of you who like us were feeling a bit sad about the lull of shows in between the fringe and Christmas time, then we would HIGHLY recommend this fantastic, feminist performance currently on at the Lyceum…

Pride and Prejudice (sort of..)…was a brilliant antidote to the darker evenings drawing in and the slight sogginess as winter approaches. It was hilarious, I can’t remember laughing out loud so much during a show before. A fantastic, modern version of this well-known story by the most talented all female cast. We were blown away by their effortlessly portraying a myriad of characters each, with incredible body language and simple gestures when swapping genders and not to mention the ability to break into song and play a variety of instruments too!!

Narrated through the perspective of five female servants, the inclusion of pop classics highlighting storylines was extra special and added to our enjoyment, classics such as ‘you’re so vain’ and ‘young hearts run free’ alongside old favourites by Pulp and the Divine Comedy had us singing along with delight…

My (sort of) mini reviewer loved it too, with her highlights being the hilarious Lady Catherine, and not letting Mary sing, until the very end that is ! …..

On until the 5th November – it’s a truth universally acknowledged that you should get yourselves along to check it out !
