This weekend its music fun weekend for young people at the BBC area and its looking like a great line-up of actvities :

Saturday 16th :

11am – 11.45am / Rastamouse and Da Easy Crew / Family Fun / 3+ / Blue Tent & Big Screen – Garden / Ticketed*

Rastamouse and Da Easy Crew, aided by their co-creator Michael De Souza, recount stories using words, rhythm and music

This event is repeated at 12.30 – 1.15pm, 2-2.45pm, 3.30-4.15pm – with tickets for these events on a first come, first served basis on the day.

10am – 4pm / Music Fun Weekend / Family Fun / Pink Tent / Drop-In

Musical fun for the whole family. Activities include:

  • Electronic Music: Get creative with computers, electronics and… fruit and vegetables. Learn how to make a pepper sound like a piano or a carrot sound like a clarinet
  • Section by Section: Build your own orchestra by completing our giant jigsaw puzzle
  • Picture Pieces: Be moved by music and express your feelings on paper
  • Anna McLuckie: The Voice contestant Anna McLuckie performs and shows why the harp is so special to her
  • Music on the Move in the Garden from trumpet and accordion duo Albaccord

Sunday’s scheldule is exactly the same as for Saturday !

Rastamouse and the Rocksteady Reggae School

Sadly I will be away this weekend – but this event looks great !!!! If you are a fan of Rastamouse, or if your children like him too, then you should head down to the BBC tent this weekend…

Rastamouse and the Rocksteady Reggae school will be at the tent at Potterow on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August – skating in for a muscial celebration of rhythm, reading and storytelling.

For those families wanting to get hands-on experience of the Nuff Song vibe, experts from The Rastamouse Rocksteady Reggae School will be on hand throughout the day running interactive workshops to inspire music-making and performance. Workshops are 30 minutes long and  run from 09:30 – 16:00. These workshops will be in the Pink Tent and are unticketed.

Rastamouse Shows lasting for one hour start at 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00. Shows are in the Blue Tent and are ticketed from 10am each day – ask at the BBC Information Point for details. So if you didn’t get tickets by applying online you can still get some on the day.

And you get all this for FREE !! – Suitable for families and children of all ages ….have fun if you make it along !!
